I
just want to take a few minutes to share what I believe the basics to
Christianity are.
Christianity,
or being a Christian, is First about believing on, and knowing the Lord
Jesus Christ in a personal way, or your could say having a personal
relationship with the Triune God, Christ, & the Holy Spirit (The born again
experience)
(Romans 10: 9,10)
To
Love GOD with all your heart, be Thankful to Him, to Praise and Worship him
regularly (the First of the 10 Commandments)
Second, it is reading and
meditation on God’s Word, (The Bible), and putting into practice the
principles, and examples, and wisdom shown in God’s word, to help equip each of
us to live a Victorious life. Some have used the scriptures to argue, and fight
over doctrine. Some have used it as a trivial game, for gaining knowledge only,
some to judge people, but I believe the true purpose for the Word is like food
for our Spirit part of our body, and revelation knowledge given to help us to
grow spiritually (Matthew 4:4).
Third, we are persuaded by
one of the Disciples to pray with, stay in touch, fellowship, encourage, and
support other Christians, as this is to help strengthen those of us who are new
Christians, and all Christians who may be facing tough times due to testing,
trials, or just discouragement, which if we keep the Faith will soon pass. Jesus gave final instructions to continue his
work throughout all of the world (Mark 16:
15-18).
God
has Anointed many who are Called and Chosen, to help with Spiritual Guidance,
Prayer, instruct, correct, and to be held accountable to, especially if in a
high position, or office in the Service in the body of Christ
(1 Corinthians 12:14-25-31 & Ephesians
4:11-16).
Fourth, we are commanded to
LOVE one another, even our enemy’s, & that includes the unlovely. We cannot LOVE the way God has asked us to
(AGAPE), without his help, and him living inside of us. It is possible to Love
this way. You must first understand what
Love really is… Action, love in action,
love gives, forgives, serves, and puts the other person’s feeling, and concerns
before their own. Jesus demonstrated
this Love when he laid down his life for all mankind. He didn’t have to go through all the
suffering for us, but as hard as it was for him to suffer like he did, he did
it because of LOVE (I John 4:7-11).
Fifth, although there is
so much more, I’ll end with this last one, GIVING to the POOR, concern for the
BROKEN HEARTED, Financially helping, protecting ORPHAN’S and the WIDOWS. VISITING those in PRISON. Some one needs to be the good Samaritans to
those who may have been forgotten. This
is love demonstrated, and Jesus said if we help these, we have helped our Lord
himself (Matthew 16-25-27).
