Supernatural Equations

Can you imagine a pregnant woman being told, by her doctor, "Not only are you having a baby boy, but he’ll be a wild man! He’ll have a geographical destiny to the east, and be the star of a never-ending battle with his brothers.” The pregnant listener would probably suggest that her doctor  see a doctor, unless she knew about Genesis 16:12.

"And he will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren (Genesis 16:12).”

This was a supernatural sonogram for an angel of God to Hagar concerning her recently begotten Ishmael. And while a bible reader may know this now, the bigger question is "did Ishmael?” Did Ishmael know his psychological destiny of being "wild?” Or did Ishmael take credit for his involuntary perception against Isaac? Did he also take credit for the economical success and competitive multitude to his father Abraham; because it truly wasn’t his doing (Genesis 16: 11). Like any paternity consequence, God arranged child support for Ishmael and all of his generation. It was the access to oil.

The nickname today for Ishmael’s descendants is Muslim. And we know that they fail to realize Genesis 16:12. They even   overlook the right God who arranged this; they believe in Allah. But how did this happen? How did a scriptural destiny eventually become a counterfeit religion? The answer is Biblical Algebra:

Delusion + Destiny = Religion

This is where man-made philosophy comes in to play.  The reality is that very few people are comfortable being successful without owning an explanation for it. Whether a rich businessman is saying, "I applied myself and sacrificed a healthy social life,” or a naturally beautiful woman is explaining her strict routines, there will almost always be a deductive explanation. Can you imagine an straight 'A' student saying, "I really don't know how  I did it? I might just  be a genius!” It’s virtually impossible. People desire to play a part of their own positive mystery. And this philosophical tradition goes all the way back to ancient biblical times. People succeed without knowing the true prophetic origin, and make up their own ideology to explain the mystery. And it turns into a religion.
