Apologize-a-phobia
Do you realize that there is not one single war in the New Testament? That’s because even the heart has advanced technology; the battle is within. It goes by many names (self-esteem, inner child, limbic system, subconscious). But it’s all the same; it’s that war atmosphere we’ve read about from Exodus to Judges. Now you would think that the person who owns this land would be the most powerful and the most free. Nope! The king of this "heartland” lives in constant fear of being invaded by their own human nature.
It’s called Apologize-a-phobia: the fear of saying "I’m sorry.” Symptoms include insomnia in the soul, guilt contamination in the heart. And it’s the most prevalent mental illness of all time. Trust me, I’ve seen them all. This condition is like an altar that sacrifices everything to protect one’s shame: friendships, family, reputation, even their own life! The sufferers don’t understand that being willing to die for their secrets, and claiming that God is first in their lives is an oxymoron. Their mental soldiers never rest, doing everything to protect their reality. Like Jacob, they wrestle day and night, but with a mirror. They don’t want to see themselves for who they really are. This subliminal war is certainly not a selfish one; it is waged on behalf of everyone else’s vision. Experience the military of "Deceit,” "Secrecy,” "Extortion,” "Threats” and "Pandering” to the ones who can prove that they're only human. They never surrender… never say "live.” Their essence depicts a soldier hiding in the bushes in a public park. And they reason that the other merry-go-round characters just haven’t had their faults catch up with them yet. But how did they get this way? The recipe is simple. All anyone has to do is loose their faith. They must forget the entire purpose of Jesus, and/or trick themselves into thinking they’re somehow disqualified. And the devil’s more than happy to help you in that area! His resume goes all the way back to Adam's feelings of shame in Genesis (Genesis 3:10-11). However, Biblical Algebra refuses to let you hire him. As a Christain who pre-loves you along with Jesus, I am obligated to remind you that Christianity is a self-cleaning way of life. So do the one thing Satan can’t do: get back in the game! There’s nothing that God can’t forgive. And unlike the "Class Clown," The Hypocrite, or The Wicked One, these sufferers can leave detention as soon as they repent. However it all starts from the inside this room. God bless you
